The 500 years old Big Banyan Tree ( Dodda Alada Mara) boasted to be the one of the biggest in its type is located a little south of the Kengeri township. This is single sprawling tree that covers about 3 acres. If you are not able to visualize it, the whole park is set under this single tree! After Kengeri , watch out for the Rajarajeswari Engineering and Dental College (3km after NICE road junction) on your right. Take the right diversion from the highway that goes by the college campus. It's about 7km detour from the highway.
About 50km from Bangalore, the highway cuts through Ramanagara , with its characteristic cyclopean boulder strewn geography.
