Bangalore to Munnar via Mysore & Ooty: Distance 560km

Take this route if you are adding Mysore & Ooty in your trip itinerary. From Bangalore, take the NICE road towards Mysore. This is the longest route to drive to Munnar. The bonus is you will drive though two very scenic national parks areas - Mudumalai National Park near Ooty & Anamalai Tiger Reserve, before you enter Munnar. Avoid driving in the night, especially the forest sections. If you drive through the forest sections early in the morning or just before sunset, chances of spotting wildlife is high.

If you want to skip Mysore and cover BR Hills, take the Chamarajanagar route. Take this only if you are very particular of this route. Otherwise take the Mysore road.

Munnar from Bangalore via Dindigul: Distance 550km

This is n extended version of the first option. Insead of the Bhavani diversion, head towards Dindigul . Prefered route if you are heading towards the tourism destinations south of Munnar ( like Chinnakanal, Kumily , Thekkady etc)
