[#train]Bengaluru city and its outskirts has two rail networks : The metro rail  network( called Namma Metro) and Indian Railways network (long distance trains). Separate stations serves these two networks. Some of the these stations and nearby or connected.

he following is a list of main stations in are around the city, for long distance and intercity connections ( Indian Railways network).

[#1]Bangalore City Junction ( officially, Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna railway station), is the main railway station Bengaluru city. Mostly likely Bangalore City Jn (Code:SBC ) is the station to which you should book a ticket, if you are traveling to Bangalore from other cities in India. [#2 ]Yeswantpur Junction (YPR) : This is the second major railway station of Bangalore, located in the north part of Bangalore. Many long distance trains start from Yesvantpur Junction.
[#3 ] Krishnarajapurm (KJM) : Popularly called KR Puram railway station is a convenient station for east side of Bangalore. This station is on the trunk route towards east & south side. Some of north-south bound long distance trains skip the city, has a stop at Krishnarajapurm

[#4 ] Bangalore Cant (BNC) : A station inside the city, 5 km east of the Bangalore City Junction.[#5 ] Kengeri (KGI) : Railway station on the southwest periphery of Bangalore city, on the way to Mysore. Many Mysore bound trains stop here.
[#6 ] Bangalore East (BNCE) : A small city station further east of Bangalore Cant.
[#7 ] Whitefield (WFD) : A small city station almost at the eastern periphery of Bangalore city. Many Chennai/Kerala bound trains has a halt at Whitefield.

[#8 ] Carmelaram (CRLM) ; A small station on the southern periphery of the city. Some express trains stop here.

[#9 ] Yelhanka Junction (YNK) : A mid sized station on the northeast side of the city. This station is the closest major railway station near to the Bangalore international airport.
[#10] Banaswadi (BAND) : A small sub urban station inside the city, between Yeswantpur Junction and KR Puram

[#* ] Hebbal (HEB) : Another suburban station near to Banaswadi.
[#* ] Malleswaram (MWM) : A small suburban between the two major stations : Bangalore City Junction (SBC) and Yeswantpur Junction (YPR)
