The bus stand is located right inside the airport campus, a short distance walk from the terminal building. As you walk out of the airport , you can see the signboards indicating the direction to the bus terminal and the taxi stand. There is a large map with the route numbers identified at the bus terminal.

The easy thing is to ask the conductors who stand next to the bus for help. They would guide you to the right bus. Typically the bus leaves as it get filled.

These are low floor air conditioned buses with racks for storing the baggage inside. Tickets are issued inside the bus by the traveling conductor. Typically its from Rs100 to Rs 200 ( USD 2-4) per head per trip depending on the distance. There are designated stops at important junctions en route. So ask for your stop and request the conductor to inform you when your stop arrives.

Unlike many other airports in India auto rickshaws ( 3 wheeler taxi) are not allowed in the vicinity of BIAL. So practically to options to access the airport are either by bus or car ( private /taxi).

There are some an efficient taxi operations too available at BIAL. It cost about Rs 500 ( USD 10) for a ride to the city center from the airport. And of course the upscale hotels arrange airport pickup/drop service for the guests.
